Dr. Cristina Sánchez, a researcher from Spain, shared the amazing results she has observed in her research. Dr. Sánchez has primarily focused on how cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol can directly fight brain and breast cancer. Essentially, THC binds with cannabinoid receptors present on the surface of cancer cells, which initiates the process of apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Cannabinoids can selectively target cancer cells while actually protecting healthy cells, making them ideal chemotherapeutic agents. Most importantly, Dr. Sánchez indicated that the same anticancer molecular mechanisms identified in preclinical cell and animal studies were also seen in humans, demonstrating that cannabinoids definitely work at least to some extent in real patients.
